Editing Utils

Hey all...

Did a search on this one and came back with a few hits.
I know about filmgimp and cinderlerra... but still have a question.

(bare in mind I haven't actually tried the above proggies yet)

Friend of mine wants me to try.. TRY ... and help him edit his videos. Sound as well.

So, has anyone had experience with Linux and it's utilities for editing motion movies and it's sound frame by frame if need be?

Basically, he recorded with a digital video cam... converted it to DVD and now needs me to "clean" up the quirks in the flick as well as possibly add a sound layover.

(enough info?)

T.I.A.

No, I haven't had experience with these, except for a really short fight with Broadcast 2000 and that suxored major. I'd say don't go for Linux because it's Linux, use what you're comfortable with. It's been a while, but if I where asked to do something like that I'd hop on over to a Macintrash/Wintendo for the Discreet/Adobe stuff.
