edit pdf file

I want to edit a pdf file.
It doesn't look like is possible.
Adode acrobat doesn't run on linux and I don't see any linux app that edits pdf files.
Is this the way it is?

KWord can open pdf's, there you go..
I dont know how to save them though. I think there is a ps to pdf creator,

Yeah, Google and I dated for a while, but now we're just friends, though she hasn't returned my calls lately. Before i posted, I had tried 'linux edit pdf' and didn't turn up much.

If you have Openoffice 1.1, OO 1.1 can write to PDF format. Try that.

oo

To be more accurate, one can export to PDF in OO.
But one cannot edit a PDF document.

One can edit a pdf file, then write it back.

For example:
Scansoft (Alladin Systems) has a MS Word add-on (and other add ons for other products) for messing with pdf files, like editing, printing, saving.

NOT FREE.
