easystroke compile error

I'm trying to install easystroke to my debian lenny tablet pc, but compiling errores:

$ make
g++ -Wall -DLOCALEDIR=\"/usr/local/share/locale\" `pkg-config gtkmm-2.4 dbus-glib-1 --cflags` -O2 -MT actions.o -MMD -MP -MF actions.Po -o actions.o -c actions.cc
In file included from actions.cc:22:
grabber.h:21:36: warning: X11/extensions/XInput2.h: No such file or directory
In file included from actions.cc:22:
grabber.h:40: error: ‘XEvent’ has not been declared
grabber.h:75: error: ‘XIDeviceInfo’ has not been declared
grabber.h:113: error: ‘XEvent’ has not been declared
grabber.h:119: error: ‘XIDeviceInfo’ has not been declared
grabber.h:124: error: ‘XIHierarchyEvent’ has not been declared
make: *** [actions.o] Error 1

Am I missing some X components?
I have installed needed depedencies; g++ libboost-serialization-dev libgtkmm-2.4-dev libxtst-dev libdbus-glib-1-dev intltool

Other mouse gesture program gestikk download site is down.. so there is only easystroke - or is there other mouse gesture programs available?

Gestures are veeery useful in tablet..

thanks, Kane

After you unpack the tarball, is there a README or INSTALL file in the newly made directory? I would read this first. What procedure did you follow to attempt the install? Is there a <filename>.sh file, or a configure script? Please tell us what you did from the start, as there is not enough information given to be of much help.

EDIT: I would highly suggest reading http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...ms_from_Source
before you go any further.

nop, there is no configure-, install-script or instructions.

I just extracted tarball and then followed compiling instructions from there:

http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/eas...ldInstructions

I can't understand what I am missing?

From the changelog file in the tarball:
Quote:
2009-10-27 Released 0.5.0
* Port easystroke to XI2, simplifying much of the code. Note that
this version of easystroke will not work on X servers < 1.7.
Try:
Code:
Xorg -version
Might have to try compiling an older version of easystroke.

thanks,

damn, I did check xorg version using synaptics package manager, but it informed that I have version 1.17.. however Xorg -version prints 1.41.

So I downloaded easystroke 4.9 and it compiles ok.

thanks brucehinrichs
