Easy to install email server for newbies >>

Hey all, after fighting trying to get sendmail/postfix/qmail working the way I wanted with remote users relaying through them, I downloaded eXtremail per someone's suggestion in another thread.

I'd just like to say, if your a newbie and want an easy to config mail server that is cake to setup in comparison to the others, download eXtremail.

www.extremail.com

Have fun

BTW, it has a built in POP3 server...POP3s and smtp/esmtp capability, and supports virtual domains with ease.

Cool thanks for the link. I use Postfix, but am considering something else.. I have 2 domains, and I'm not sure about setting up a postfix virtual server as sendmail or not... it is now. But, with extremail (and with postfix/sendmail) do you have to set up a user for every email account? I'm very very new.

Thanks.

Yes you do have to setup an account for each email user.

For instance, in extremail you would add your domain names, then you would use the following command.

user add name=rosko domain=mydomain.com pass=mypass

That adds an account for "rosko@mydomain.com" with whatever password you want.

so your account name in your pop3 client is "rosko@mydomain.com" not just "rosko".

It is pretty handy for multiple domains.

Hope this helps.
