DVDRip ripping from harddrive possible?

I have a new question about DVDRip. I have a ripped DVD on my hard drive.. DVDRip is installed and fully configured, but I can't seem to load a video file on my hard drive. Can this be done?

It keeps asking to insert disk.. But I've done all that already and it's region free on my HDD! Any tips?

DVDrip is only there to rip DVDs - if you've already ripped it, it's not going to do anything for you. What are you trying to do, exactly?

I haven't ripped it (conveted to xvix .avi) I only copied a DVD to the harddrive. My aim is to take one 4.7 - 8Gb DVD and compressit via xvid to 1-3 CDs.

Extracting DVD to HDD

Okay does anyone know how to do this? In WinXP I use DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter and both will extract the DVD to my HDD and remove macrovision and/or region. Once on my HDD I can rip it to any format, but DVD::Rip is an all in one. Is there anything to replace DVD Shrink/Decrypter in Linux?

Just after creating a new project you should be left on the Storage tab. There is a section called "Data source selection" and it has a button labeled "Choose DVD image directory". Use that button to point to the ripped DVD contents.
