dvd ripping

Hey there...

I have a small problem.

I use dvdshrink and wine to take backup of my DVD and then K3B to burn it, but no matter what I do it just wont work.

I saw some where to night that dvdshrink and wine take about 6 times as much time as when you run dvdshrink in windows so any one in here that can give me a advice how I can take backup of my DVD's?
There is one small problem.
I only have a 8.5 GB hard-drive so it has to be something like dvdshrink where I can cut a 8GB DVD down to a 4,7 GB DVD.
Hope to hear from you

hello,

presuming you mean backup a video DVD?

In which case, have a look at dvd::rip - it can grab the contents of your DVD and shrink it to fit whatever media you want to use - including CD (eg, video CD). I think it can also do this 'on-the-fly', so you won't be needing to dump a full DVD onto your hard drive (which with only 8.5GB to play with is going to be tricky...)

Sorry for my bad English.

I have read some of the DVD::rip guide and it says you'll need a 10 GB free space.

Any way I fount out a way with dvdshrink to get it to work.
The only things that sucks is that it in linux take about 6 ours if you run it with wine.
Do you run it in windows it takes about 30 min.

Some good advice to speed it up?
