DVD software in Fedora, will not install!?!
I'm running the lastest build of Fedora on my Inspiron 1100. I keep trying to install xine and Totem from rpm but it keeps telling me certain packages can't be found on my system. Help! This is driving me crazy!

Unless you give us the errors or the packages it says your missing, were no help at all, we can't guess you know.
Have you tried searching and installing the dependencies its asking for? |
Here is what it says
The following packages could not be found on your system. Installation cannot continue until they are installed.
libaa.so.1 libxine.so.1 xine-lib I thought these rpms were complete packages, including their libraries. I tried installing a lib file first but the same type of errors occured. Is my pc not reading the full package?     |
They might not be either found or in your path.
Try doing an ldconfig first as root to update the lib's db. And then do a find on each of those. If they are on your system, tell us which directory they are in. Example, if they were placed in /usr/local/lib and not in /usr/lib, that very well could be the problem as the rpm might be looking for the libs in /usr/lib, etc. |
They don't exist
