DVD help

I'm going to be installing a DVD drive in the near future (anyone know a good one that'll work under Mdk 8.2, by the way.... ) and I've read about the region problem with CSS , etc.

On the captaincss website it has downloads of text files for d4d and d5d plugins for Xine, so that you can play DVDs that you've paid good money for.

Can anyone tell a thicko like me what the commands are to turn these txt files into something installable.......

Obliged

the Captain CSS site has this to say -

installation example (assuming you have already installed xine-lib and xine-ui and downloaded one of the shell archives):

sh d4d030.txt
tar xfvz xine_d4d_plugin-0.3.0.tar.gz
cd xine_d4d_plugin-0.3.0
./configure
make
make install

so, cd to the directory that contains the downloaded .txt file, and run the above commands (as root).

hope this helps!
