dvd/cd copy

Hello

Can someone give any suggestions to unrecognised error messages when I try to copy a cd or dvd in Ubuntu. Ubuntu does see the dvd/cd rw drives okay but will not copy files...message just error not recognised.

Thanks

We need to know what program you are using and the error message you are getting.
Post versions of all software involved.
What typeof media going from and too. cd-r, cd +r, dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd-rw,etc....
Details on hardware might help as well.

Right then, Ubuntu 5.04 - only programme disc installed.
I have a hp dvd writer 840e, Samsung dvd rom and a hp dvd writer 630c. The 840e is the only one that actually wites to dvd's as well as cd's. DVD+write......
The 630c is only a cd writer.
Ubuntu recognises all the drives but thats as far as it goes. Message says unrecognised error ! Error not recognised !

I am guessing the tools to burn dvd and cd is a program built into Ubuntu. I don't use Ubuntu so no idea as to the apps it is using to burn dvd cds. If the way I read it you are burning +R media. There are extras for +R disc to work under linux. This is based on K3B use I have done.
