DVD burning using VOB filesets in Linux

I am migrating from Windows (XP) to Suse 9.1. I have vmware for linux (host) to run most of the win apps that I haven't replaced in Linux. I know 3d games won't run under vmware or linux (not yet), so I plan to dual-boot to support kids playing games. I myself never play 3d games and will keep my PC on Linux >99% of the time.

The problem has arisen that I can't burn DVD's under Linux and Nero (running in a virtual machine on vmware) will not even start. In fact, it really hoses vmware so that I have to reboot the host to recover it. All I need is to be able to burn the VOB fileset to DVD. I can do all other tasks under vmware, except burn the DVD.

I have searched the internet and only find k3b and Xcdroast (for GUIs) The text commands are also there (cdrecord etc) but those are so complicated and cumbersome that I don't see that as any better than rebooting back to Winxp.

So the question is: have I missed some program out there that is quick and easy to install and use or will I need to plan on dual booting?

BTW, I burn quite a lot of DVD's (data backups and distributions and home movies)

Any recommendations and links would be of help. Thanks

K3B will do the job just fine.
I have used it to burn backed up DVD's before with no problems.
Use the latest version as some of the older versions don't support DVD.
Make sure you have all the necassary deps tho.

I prefer K3B to Nero now.

[edit] it works perfectly under both Fedora and mandrake maybe it's a problem with K3B nad Vmware ?

Thanks Scorpio

Thanks Scorpio. That helps me focus on K3B, instead of searching and searching. BTW, K3B has nothing to do with vmware. Vmware lets me run win apps using linux. It's an emulator, and a good one at that. Very little, if any, performance loss. But it can't run Nero.

Sorry I thought you meant you had vmware running Linux.
I prefer using native linux programs and only as a last resolution result to wine etc.
Best part I find about k3b is the sounds when it fails or writes a cd/dvd.
Also the gui is so much better than nero.
