DVD burning that works first time

I've often wrestled with k3b & XRoast and have never been able to rely on them for video - somethimes they work and sometimes they don't which is a pain as I lead an M$ free life.

I just pulled down the latest nerolinux-2.0.0.2 and found it to be FREAKIN' A+ :-)

Works beautifully. No poncing around with separate setup programs, no producing iso with dodgy extensions, no errors in the last 10 seconds of a 4GB burn.

Same hardware, same video files, differnet result - I can feel a crdit card moment coming on.

For fellow Slackers, grab the .rpm and run
Code:
rpm2tgz nerolinux-2.0.0.2-x86.rpm
and then install as usual with pkgtool

Deb or rpm users just take it as it is (both are available)

Trial version 'expires' on 31st August so grab it now and do all that burning you've been meaning to do.

Ugh...3k download speed.
I'll wait

Dunno why everyone has problems with k3b...its always worked out of the box with debian apt-get install k3b.

I haven't finished exploring it yet but this version doesn't look to be a full production suite although I'm sure that is their aim.
3K dl? Yuck, i rattled down for me in seconds.

K3b works fine for CDs but is far from simple. Ubuntu's synaptic version was easy but I suppose I'd better admit to habitually booting to console; building stuff like wine from source and using vi to edit xorg.conf or fstab.

Nero just worked, first time and everything ;-) I think they have a winner on their hands and I for one don't mind paying for good apps written for Linux. In fact I encourage EVERYONE to buy it if it comes out - as soon as the major manufacturers see the $ value of the Linux app market maybe a few more will start porting.

Maybe I should apply for a commission deal ;-)
