DVD burning not working right, K3B settings?

hey all,

First time poster, long time listener! I'm having trouble getting my DVD's to burn lately, one of those ghosts that "just stopped working"

It's when burning a DVD ISO image. I use K3B -> Burn DVD image, I've added the setting -dvd-compat to the user parameters of growisofs, and it seems like it burns, the dvd looks burned, but it won't play and no drive recognizes, linux, xp, or home dvd player. Am I missing some major parameter, like fixing the disc or finalizing? I use the command line too, still no worky. HELP!!!

Unhappy Same problem

I have the same problem, only for me it never worked in the first place :-(

I'm using a Firewire LG external Dual Layer DVD+/-R(W) drive with Fedora Core 3:
- CDs/DVDs won't burn with cdrecord... it locks up the SCSI subsystem
- CDs burn fine with cdrdao in K3b
- DVDs appear to burn (both using the command line and through K3b) using growisofs with no errors
- DVDs physically look burned - i.e. you can see the phase change on the surface

BUT - DVD's are unreadable. In any drive.

I have tried building pre-mastered ISOs then burning them with growisofs with -dvd-compat and the same thing happens.

I'm getting desperate cause I want to use my new toy so any help would be heaps appreciated.

Smile OOOOPS

lol looks like I spoke too soon!

the dvd+rw-tools package had a bug in version 0.19 that's been fixed in 0.21.

It didnt close any sessions on dvd+r or -r discs and it didn't write the lead out for dvd+rw discs.

SO upgrade to 0.21 (search for dvd+rw-tools on www.rpmfind.net if you are RPM based) and all should work once more.

Dammit... answered my own problem...
