Unhappy Dumping postgres databases

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hi,
I want to make a full backup of postgres databases. So I entered:
# pg_dumpall > dump.sql

The program runs, but it asks me the password for each database. How can I make it automatic?

Several options ...

a) create a ~/.pgpass file (read the documentation for details).
b) temporarily modify pg_hba.conf to allow password-less connections
for the superuser

Cheers,
Tink
