Dual monitor setup with Xorg and KDE


I want to have a dual monitor setup. I use X.org and KDE 3.3.1.
I have one videocard: an Ati Radeon 9200SE @ AGP slot. The primary monitor is connected to the VGA port, and the secundairy monitor is connected to the DVI port, using a VGA > DVI converter.

The problem:
X starts, my primary monitor (the philips) changes resolution to a very low one (I guess 640x480 or even lower) and 60 hertz. The secundairy monitor (the iiyama) changes resolution to 1024x768, the desired one, and 85 hertz (I want that). But the iiyama monitor isn't very good, so is needs to be te secundairy one.

Both monitors behave as clones.

I can't change preferences of multiple monitors in KDE (I can only choose one). I want the second monitor not to behave as clone but to be an extension of the primairy.

This is my /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Believe me, I tried a lot. I hope some of you guys know something I don't know, and can help me get this to work.
