Dual layer recording

I tried this question before without a response so I am trying again.

Has anyone succeeded in making a dual layer recording, specifically a movie, with linux? I have failed with various linux distributions. I can copy the movie with k3b or dd ... , but it will not record.

I am trying to record DVD-R. I know the terminology is double layer and dual layer and I may have confused the two.

My newest version is K3b 1.Orc6. Is this the same as K3b-1.0?

Close enough....

What does k3b menu-->Settings-->Config K3b...-->Devices show about:

Writes DVD[-,+]R-Double-layer

I (for example) can write DVD+R Double-layer (and have done so in the past) but not DVD-R Double-layer. But to be honest I have not duplicated a movie (yet).

I guess that like the last time I shall not get anybody to report success in copying a dual layer movie with any linux distribution. Like wi-fi, it is still unfinished linux business even though linux is far superior to Windows.
