dual boot win9x and linux


i'm looking to set up my pc for a dual boot and i have 2 option and i want to know which is better

slice my hd in half like 3 to 5gb to put linux and have an option to switch back to forth

or

i got a 6gb hard put it in authorise it and install and load linux

Put the second disk in. 3 - 5 gig will work, but won't leave a lot of space for user data. More disk space is always better.

Depends on what you'll be running. If you want graphic heavy apps 3 GB for linux isn't much. Especially with your personal files in it as well. It's possible to fit it on the HD but you won't have a lot of space left. It also depends on the distro cause some install a whole load of programs.

If you can put an extra 6GB you'll have more room and you can still dual boot.
