Dual Boot Suse 8.2 and 9.0

How can I install 2 different versions of Linux on the same HDD? Every time I try, even if I create different swap partitions, the version that was installed last is the one that boots, without any options in GRUB. Suggestions anyone?

Different swap partitions are certainly not necessary. It sounds as if the installer is failing to pick up on the existance of your old partition. You will likely need to manually edit your grub configuration file: /boot/grub/menu.lst

If you make a new install from SUSE it will have only 2 entries - SUSE and windows (if there is no windows) you have only the last install.

Look at the place where your other OS is installed, find the GRUB config file Look in what way it is calling the OS.

Make this entry in the new Grub config file and you have 2 entries. Peace of cake
