dual boot Linux/Win HD clone

Hello All,

I've been searching around the web for a while, since I haven't cleared this issue yet.
My disk is about to croak and, though I'm going to buy a replacement, I've had time to reinstall both OSs, with extra pinky and such - well, I'm still waiting for the capital to be released.. anyway, all important data has been saved.

Now, there's plenty of choice for backup/image/dump software, both Linux and Win. The question is, can I dump both OSs with the same program? Will they boot afterwards? I could dump the whole 40GB, but that won't fit into a dvd [i can afford]. And even if I could dump both, since Windows has already hogged ~5GB, it'll need a dvd of its own.

So I was wondering, does anyone have experience with this kind of situation? Does it work dumping Linux with its tools, burning the dvd, dumping windows with other tools, burning a new dvd, then putting both back? This doesn't look so safe - I'm afraid one would plain erase the other, and pretty much put to waste all the work in making the images.

So, I'd be very grateful if you could drop some lines on whether, how, and where to look for info. Pointers to articles on the subject are also welcome.

Regards,

rdrs

Not sure about dumping *Nix, but you certainly can backup you M$OS with
Norton Ghost

Dumping to a DVD maynot be feasible. Its just too big.
You can backit up to a networked PC instead.
