Dropbox needing reinstalls in Centos 6.4 to keep working

Hi,

I've installed dropbox and nautilus-dropbox. It works fine, however sometimes after a boot it will not run properly. Then I have to reinstall and it works fine again. During installation I get a non-fatal msg saying:

/usr/bin/chcon: can't apply partial context to unlabeled file `/etc/init.d/dropbox'
/usr/bin/chcon: can't apply partial context to unlabeled file `/etc/sysconfig/dropbox'

I've checked these files and seems to be nothing wrong with them. Has anyone experienced the same problems and/or know a solution?

Thanks for your reply, that did not help though. Didn't even see the resemblance to my problem (but that's probably on me).

However, I've decided that though I do not need bleeding edge, Centos is lagging too much. Did some chatting on the IRC on a Linux-channel and they suggested I should run Debian instead if it is a server that I want. So long story short, currently running Debian. Enjoying it, feels very lightweight, put in a Samsung 840 EVO SSD, it's ridiculously fast. And so I haven't come across any problems yet. Dropbox is working properly.

CentOS is a long term server with a min life span of 5 years. CentOS 7 should be released soon (within next 4 months or so) and that will be much more modern as it is based on Fedora 19 with systemd and the newer 3.11.x kernel.

CentOS 6 is based on Fedora 7 or 9 and is still running the 2.6 kernel so yes it is showing its age. this is for stability and long term support for 3rd party applications.

If you require more modern applications, then a true server class OS like CentOS/RHEL, SuSe, Ubuntu LTS are not for you.

One of the great things about pure Debian is its easy of upgrade even though it has a much shorter life support cycle then RHEL or the others i listed its very stable, when you run stable, and in general does a great job of not breaking backward compatibility with older applications.

Lleb thanks for clarifying. I hope I will not run into severe limitations again with Debian, but I don't expect to..
