dpkg update/upgrade error
I run a Kubuntu 8.04 with kernel 2.6.24-19-generic, when i try to update or upgrade the system through apt-get update/upgrade i get an error message that says "dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem."
When i run dpkg --configure -a it tries to configure a linux image and runs depmod and then nothing happens and the PC friezes, the dpkg.log show the following entry
"status half-configured linux-image-2.6.24-19-386".
When i try to use the adept-manager it says that a process is locking dpkg and that i have to resolv that manually, i have killed the process that belongs to dpkg but i doesnt help, it says the same thing.
Thanks i advance for any help you can give me.
