dpkg -l

Hey

When I execute dpkg -l | more, i see "pdnsd".. i remember installing this, but when i do apt-get -f remove pdnsd, i get:

Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Package pdnsd is not installed, so not removed
0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.

So its listed in the list, but not actually installed.. How can I purge it from the list?

Using debian ....

Cheers,

Duncan

Have you tried to install it via apt-get and then try to remove it again...

Have tried this a couple of times, and this usually solves it.

i have dnsmasq running, so dont wanna reinstall pdnsd, as it will probably conflict.. infact i think i tried it, and it removed dnsmasq and installed pdnsd!!

oh well its really no big deal.. just wondered if there was a parameter to dpkg that forcibly removes the list entry.. ill have a poke around

Cheers

Duncan
