I was trying to install mythtv and hit ctrl-c in the wrong window. I stopped mid-installation, and now every time i run an apt command, I get an error message. The following is a transcript of everything that happened after running the command.
Code:
aaron-desktop:~ aaron$ sudo apt-get remove mythtv-backend

I have tried the following commands, but none of them helped.
Code:
dpkg-reconfigure mythtv-backened
dpkg --configure -a
That wansn't quite what I was looking for. Like I said, mythtv-backend is not completely installed, because apt was stopped mid-installation. I want to install the rest of mythtv, but I get errors because dependencies are not met (mythtv-backend isn't working and isn't fully installed). I want to completely reinstall the mythtv-backend, but i can't. I have tried every apt-get command (install, remove and purge) and have even tried to reconfigure the package through dpkg, but get errors every time.
During the install process, it appears to be looking at a symlink in my ~/.mythtv folder. The link is there, but the file it is linking to, /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt, doesn't exist. This seems to be where the problem comes from, but I am not sure. When I try to install the main mythtv package to get this config file to appear, I get the same error as in my previous post, and a then an error that there are now 2 packages that are not fully installed. That folder is never created.
