Downloaded java installers give corrupt file?

I'm trying to install the java SDK, but whatever version I use it seems to throw a "corrupt download" error. This applies even to one I had downloaded a while ago (1.4.2) and had previously installed without any hassle.

The same also goes for the latest jre.

Any clues??

No clues, just questions ...

Did you download the rpm's or the bins?

How did you download them, which browser (tool)
on which operating system, what filesystem, ... ?

Cheers,
Tink

Hey,

I downloaded the .bin's i'm using Mozilla 1.8 (which is not a stable release) Slack 9.1. The filesystem is ext2.

Only thing is, like I said, I tried an old binary that I had used to install previously without trouble, and that was corrupt too.

I just had this happen to me now on a yoper system. I downloaded the jre file, I tried both the .bin and the rpm.bin, after agreeing to the licsense it gives this error:

Code:
Do you agree to the above license terms? [yes or no]
yes
tail: `-1' option is obsolete; use `-n 1'
Try `tail --help' for more information.
j2re-1_4_2_05-linux-i586-rpm.bin: line 327: [: -lt: unary operator expected
Unpacking...
tail: cannot open `+479' for reading: No such file or directory
Checksumming...

The download file appears to be corrupted. Please refer
to the Troubleshooting section of the Installation
Instructions on the download page for more information.
Please do not attempt to install this archive file.
I do not see anything about this in the mentioned troubleshooting section.
What am I missing?
