Smile download problem after interruption

Hi,
I was trying to download 'grisbi' the bank program and I had to stop the download, not I get a message saying E: dpkg was interrupted, you must run 'sudo dpkg--configure-a' to correct the problem
E;_cache->open() failed, please report.
can anyone help?

I have also tried to d/load KMymoney and I get to the part where it says (extracting files from archive) then I get a box saying Extraction completed successfully
then:- open the destination or close
If i close nothing happens
when I go to open destination I am taken to a list of files and after that I don't know what to do.

Any help would be appreciated

Alan
