Download Accelerators for linux...
I'm looking for a program like DAP (www.speedbit.com) for linux.
I don't want just a Download Manger... I want a download Accelerator... I tried KGet and Prozilla. KGet is just a manger... and doesn't always get the job done. Prozilla in my opinion is deep into ALPHA stages, and if its not it should be. I downloaded a rather large file with it (140Megs) and the speed is not very good. 60KB/s at most. And its very messed up, becuase when I try to download it downloads at say 60KB/s and the numbers keep dropping fast... And then I notice that I'm not actually downloading at ALL. Total Bytes recived: stay's the same... while the speed is changeing? wierd... Not only that. It sometimes goes into a minus speed! Avarge Speed: -43KB/s Estimated time left: -1200 Seconds ! What the hell? And even weirded... sometimes it says that its downloading at 600KB/s per second, sometimes at a few thoushend KB/s... its very messed up. So anyway... Can anybody please recommend a program like DAP for linux that works? I'm running SuSE 9, and have a cable modem. (if that info helps at all... ;)) Thanks... |
