I've got dosemu working with freedos but since I need to access a netware server I need to run a different version of dos. Problem is I'm clueless as to how to start. I've got a version of DOS on CD, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me translate that into something I can actually use with dosemu? Else, does anyone know where I can find MSDOS6.22 for dosemu?

And the DOSEMU documentation sure is no help. For a while I substituted Novell DOS 7 for FreeDOS. I simply overwrote the FreeDOS programs with the Novell DOS 7 programs. I am back to using FreeDOS again.

On my system the FreeDOS directory is:
/usr/local/share/dosemu/freedos

You will find a directory called /dosemu somewhere in your user tree. If FreeDOS is installed in /usr/local/share/dosemu/freedos then somewhere in /dosemu there will be symbolic links to programs in /usr/local/share/dosemu/freedos. If FreeDOS is installed in user space then /dosemu will contain actual FreeDOS programs instead of symbolic links.

Thanks for the reply. You are right that my FreeDOS directory is /usr/local/share/dosemu/freedos

I suppose I can overwrite all the files with files from my CD but is there a genuine way to get MS-DOS 6.22 without overwriting files?

PS- I didn't even know that Novell had a DOS7.. mayble I'll see if that's available for download..

I am not sure. I read the DOSEMU documentation and then installed DOSEMU with Novell DOS 7 by trial and error because the DOSEMU documentation is more confusing than helpful.

Since you do not want to overwrite files you might try setting up MS-DOS and FreeDOS in parallel. Rename /usr/local/share/dosemu/freedos to /usr/local/share/dosemu/FreeDOS
and install MS-DOS in /usr/local/share/dosemu/MS-DOS. Then make a symbolic link called /usr/local/share/dosemu/freedos which you can switch back and forth between /usr/local/share/dosemu/FreeDOS and /usr/local/share/dosemu/MS-DOS while you get things working by trial and error. That way you will not lose FreeDOS if you cannot get MS-DOS working this way.
