Hey! I'm still a bit new to Linux right now. I originally started with Fedora Core 1. I then moved to Mandrake 10, but now I'm back on Fedora Core 2. My first problem is this: I have a USB flash drive and a few floppies formatted as DOS FAT partitions. While I could mount my flash drive fine in Mandrake, I can't in Fedora Core 2. I checked my kernel's menuconfig's partition options and DOS FAT fs is set to "<M>" (modularized). What I want to know is, how on earth do I get this modularized support to work? Will I have to recompile the kernel?
My second problem (which is totally unrelated) is that for some strange reason, I suddenly started receiving an error message whenever KOrganizer starts up (which is every time Linux boots). The error is this:
Quote:
Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale NFS locks due to a system crash. See http://www.gnome.org/projects/gconf/ for information. I've seen only a couple of other threads on this, and from what I gather, I may need to reinstall "gconfd" -- whatever that does. How do I go about reinstalling it?
Thanx in advance for your help!
