Doom Legacy Problem

I'm running Doom Legacy and I want to play a multiplayer map that I downloaded from the Doom Legacy website. It is a .wad file, but I don't know how to load that into the game. Also I want to know how to enable skins.

Anybody know how to do this? And please write it in simple terms because I am a newb.

You should just have to stick the WAD file into the doom directory. It should automatically be detected and loaded.
