Well you need to know which drivers to use or which to download. That means you need to find out which card it is. The best way is, in command as root typing "lspci". Then see if you have that driver or it is compatible with linux on the LQ Linux Harware Compatibility Guide. This is because even knowing the make of the card from compaq.com, you wouldn't know chipset of the card.
Once you know if it is normally compatible, and whether or not picking a driver and all will work, youa re set if the answer is yes.
If it is no, you will need to install ndiswrapper and get the windows inf file from a windows driver for the card. For this using compaq's website, which is HP now, you should be golden.
