domain name service


What does the domain name service. Does anybody know where I can find some howtos on the domain name service and how to set up an apache server.

No problem - I just went to www.google.com/linux and put in "apache dns howto". Google's Linux pages can be invaluable - and if they can't help, regular Google can.

eh I mean some dns-serversoftware that doesn't come along the distro (so to download or someting)

Have a look at BIND - it can be downloaded seperately from your OS.
