Does Slackware 9.1 come with a cd-burning program?

Does Slackware 9.1 come with a cd-burning program? If so, how do I use it?

Comes with cdrecord and all the command line utilities. If you want a frontend GUI, you'll have to downlaod one yourself.

I do think if you install Gnome though, it comes with the Nautilus cd-writing program, but I have yet to see or use it as I don't use Nautilus, even when using gnome.

Regards.

YES, it comes with cdrecord ( a command line burning program ) and also a gui program in the Gnome tools.

'man cdrecord'

It is kinda hard to understand but I can post some examples if you like.

Heres the 2 i use the most

cdrecord -v speed=12 dev=0,0 xxx.iso --burns ISO to regular format on a cd

cdrecord -v dev=0,0,0 -dao -useinfo *.wav -- burns wave to cd

I realized I have most of them on my puter at home. I'll try to post more later.

I just got a burner, and in my searches for GUI tools came across gcombust
http://www.abo.fi/~jmunsin/gcombust/
It's a GTK frontend for mkisofs/mkhybrid/cdda2wav/cdrecord/cdlabelgen and looks very useful.

I just downloaded and installed X-CD-Roast. It tells me that I should enable scsi emulation, how do I do that?

In
/etc/lilo.conf

locate the section for your active kernel,
and add the line
append="hdX=ide-scsi"
where X is the letter of your CD-Writer

Run lilo

Cheers,
Tink

if your in a bind while learning this, and need to burn a cd asap,K3b is an alright quick fix if you need to burn a cd right at that moment. Its a very simple no-brainer front end.
Otherwise the CLI is the most flexible option.

Hi,

if you compile a 2.6 version of the kernel, you don't have anymore to enable scsi emulation, and from that point, gnome is provided with a simple but efficient cd-recording utility, accesible via the gnome-vfs system.

It's ///:burn I think, and it's pretty easy, if not to say fucking intuitive.
