Unhappy Does limewire cause x server core dumps, or have I been hacked?

I installed limewire in SuSE 9.1, ran it all night, and in the morning my disk was full. I didn't download 11.6 gb, but there was that much space taken up... which I found as one huge core dump from my x server in my home directory. Did someone try to hack me by causing a buffer overflow, or is limewire just buggy and cause x errors? I deleted the core dump file, which was huge, but now can I trust that there are no root kits now installed? How can I find out? I'm pretty newb.
