Question Does ClamAV on *NIX also detect windows viruses?

I have a pen drive for carrying around my data, and I have to use a lot of infected windows machines.
Viruses keep on entering my pendrive and also get transferred to the other computers I may use.

I want to know if ClamAV or any other free antivirus tools can detect windows viruses on my pendrive while I am using linux, or will they detect only *NIX viruses.
