does boa server support our own username and password

i managed to create my boa server on my lpc2468-uclinux.
i try to put authentication on is working very well with the /etc/passwd that is provided by the i want to put my own authentication.i want to create my own username and password and put on this server.can i do that?if u guys have any ideas on how to do that please tell me.
