This means that indeed the adware/malware is only in the SF installer, and you do NOT have to use it. I don't care about this installer, so I don't see any urgent need to switch to github.
It appears that they 'relaunched' the adware installer as an option for to use after the backlash.
So what it amounts to is that they have an optional installer for Windows programs only that gives you advertisements? And for that I'm being urged to get Linux programs from Github? No thank you.
Why not? What in your opinion is wrong with GitHub?
Well, my first reason was that I'm not interested in learning to use a new tool when I have a perfectly adequate one to hand. But I've just looked at both sites for the same program.
SourceForge: source code file to download, plus description, screen shots, a few reviews, links to support, etc
GitHub: I can't even see how to download, let alone anything else: just half-a-dozen lines of gobbledegook.
