does anyone know how to install the skype plugin 4 kopete?

Hi guys

ive looked in the kopete site and the skype plugin site (linked from kopete site) yet i have no idea how to install it for kubuntu. it says something like

"The preferred way to install this is installing a package from your distribution vendor. It is probably something like kdeextragear-addons or something very similar. "

i have no idea where the kdeextragear-addons can be found... has anyone used this plugin? if so can anyone explain how its done?

thx alot in advance

What distribution are you using? (edit it in your profile, then you only have to do it once) most have some sort of package manager that will help.

checking their site "Another way is downloading and building source tarball "kdeextragear-addons.tar.bz2" from KDE. It can be found in the section for example on the ftp mirror in snapshots directory. It installs a bit more, but it is not that much."

http://www.kde.org/mirrors/ftp.php

Then go to the snapshot directory, download it and compile....

Bloody hell, this is an old thread :S, thought it was odd when i had a peek and saw my own post there.

Does kubuntu not use apt-get??

Code:
apt-get install kdeextra-gear-addons
what does that return?
