Do I need WPA_supplicant for WEP encryption?

Hi,

Do I need to use the WPA_supplicant package if I want to use WEP encryption? As I know I can set a WEP encryption key with ndiswrapper.
Does anuone know how to uninstall WPA_supplicant?

No, you only need wpa_supplicant if you are using wpa on your wireless network.

How did you install it? Through your package management system of your distribution? If so, which distribution/package system did you use?

Many thanks for your reply.

I did not use the package management system of my distribution.
I found a detailed description on the web (I can give you the link later if you need it) and installed it from a command line, eg. I typed 'make', etc as root. I tried to type 'make uninstall' but it did not work.
