do I need a boot loader

I am going to inatall slackware on my harddrive. If I already have grub installed on my mbr , which currently boots redhat and linux. When I get to the step of adding a boot loader , do I need one?
Can I just add lines to my grub.conf?

You don't need another one. Just add new entry for Slack to the one you already have.
