Divx encoding software

I used to do a lot of DVD ripping and Divx encoding on my XP machines but I'm having a hard time finding anything for Linux. Anyone here encode in Divx? If so what software do you use?

I don't encode to divix (I like mpeg2) But I know that mencoder (comes with mplayer) will encode divix right off the dvd so you can rip and encode in one step.

i use acidrip to rip AVI files from DVDs

I just found that program. there is something else too called DVD::RIP?
