distro-dabblers, have you ...

(actually I also call myself a distrodabbler)

but I'd like to know if anybody has used a live CD distro, capable of organising its networking decently and running VNC off the bat, like at boot?

To explain fully, I want to be able to go up to a computer with my laptop, connect to it via crosscable and boot it up with a live CD which gets VNC going, and then control it via my laptop's VNC client.

I'm on a knoppix reamstering project right now, and I'd like to be able to set this up, but I thought that there already might be a distro that does this.

Of course I've been to google and there seems to be several options, but may be somebody has tried this already?

Haven't tried anything the like, but the biggest issue would be the IP configuration.
If the machine you're hooking the laptop up doesn't doesn't supply DHCP leases, how
will your laptop now how to configure itself?

Is what you're trying to do something that's meant to be generic, or is it a thing
you want to use in one specific environment?

Cheers,
Tink
