Display Problem
I'm somewhat new to Linux, I installed Mandrake Linux 8.2, but when it boots to KDE I just get a black screen. I am able to get to the shell and display is fine there.
The monitor I have is fairly old, but I have no idea how to configure Linux to recognize my monitor or where to start. Anyone know this? Thanks, Dan |
I think you can use XFdrake to reconfigure X.
To get it to run, you should (as root) just be able to type in XFdrake and hit enter. First make sure you know your monitors vertical and horizontal refresh rates! And the graphics card or the on board graphics.Otherwise you will be guessing and you may hit the lotto first before you get lucky. |
