Display Colors in Fedora - Half Life
 

I am trying to run Half life from a vfat partition using Wine.

After running wine hl.exe, I am prompted for my cd key. After that is entered, I get an error that says my Display is not set to 16 bit mode (I think).

How do I change the display setting so that Wine/Fedora will think it is running at "millions" of colors like M$ Windoz.

good luck getting an answer I looked for like 2 weeks before giving up:\

im on slackware 9.1 btw and was the 2.4.24 kernel im on 2.6.2 now and havent yet tried it again

Same problem? Any good resources for running CS-Half life in linux?

I saw somewhere that you have to mod the Config file and update the drivers? But I am not sure as how to do this...

The install for steam goes without hitch. However, when I try to create a new account it cannot connect?

Would it be best to create an account on a windows machine then proceed from here?
