disabling arts in kde?


i've been having audio problems with kplayer that can be fixed with 'killall artsd'. i've seen a lot of talk about disabling arts, but i can't seem to figure out where it is in the control center menu of kde 3.3. could anyone help me out?

Try kcontrol -> sound & multimedia -> deselect "enable the sound system"
