Disable moving part on internetsites!

Hi,

I'm using Suse 10 with FreeNX (Terminalserver) and i like to disable flashplayer and java for users because that keeps the internet performance good for other users. I don't want moving pictures on internet-sites!

Changing permission on flash, is that the answere?

Please help me!

THANKS!!!!!!!

You could disable or uninstall Java and Flash, but what if you really need it for some sites? You could install a filtering plugin for your browser (like Noscript for Firefox) or use proxy like Privoxy. This way you can disable stuff (also comes in handy when you have no control over what clients do) and enable it for specific sites if necessary. Privoxy has a web-based interface and it comes with a Flash filter but chances are you might have to build some custom filters by hand. It isn't that hard though. Read the accompanying docs and look at the examples. Make and test out your filters and if it fails look in the logs. If you can't make filtering work after that, post them, preferably with error messages.
