Umm... I know its an odd request but, Compiz Fusion appears to be a little too hardware intensive and buggy for me!
But despite disabling all the effects (via Compiz Config Settings Manager) some of the artifacts/bugs of the program still persist and my computer is running far slower than before I managed to enable desktop effects.
If it helps it would appear I managed to break my Compiz setup as I was experimenting with the ability to draw fire on the screen, and the next minute, window title bars disappeared and everything froze. Since then I have been unable to get any effects to work (despite multiple reboots and restarts of the X server) and this, I think, is the reason why the thing is being so bl**dy difficult!
Any help in resolving this problem will be greatly appreciated!
