I have Digikam on Mandrake 10.1 and SuSE 9.1.Digikam will not recognize or access my Fuji camera using usb mass storage.When I first turn on my camera in Mandrake and SuSE both offer to browse the camera in Konqueror.At any rate I choose no because I want to use Digikam.

In Digikam I choose usb mass storage camera.Then I attempt to connect but fails to shows my cameras contents it says connected but stays at 0% .I turn the camera off and back on .Again I am asked if I want to open Knoqueror to view pictures.I do and I can get my pictures but I still can't get Digikam to browse the camera.

To use mass storage in Digikam I had to make a directory mnt/camera or I go an error no such folder (mnt/camera).Hows do Konqueror mount the camera.Should I be using a mount point that Konqueror is using?

Any ideas?

i have the same problem I guess with my Kodak CX6200

when i went to digikam and i chose auto detect, it detected the camera but yet couldnt open it and browse it saying that it cant read the files of the camera !!

After fiddling with stuff a little more I realized only SuSE was offering to open the camera pics in Konqueror. Digikam expected to see the camera mounted under /mnt/camera.Instead SuSE mounted it under /media/usb device xyz.I copied and pasted this mount point into my mass storage usb camera setting(in Digkam camera setup page) and all is well.

I was wrong about Mandrake, it is not automounting my camera like SUSE did.I am going to look into that.The Digikam manual didn't really cover the fact that it doesn't mount the usb device.Rather your kernel needs to mount it before running Digikam .Then you are just pointing Digikam to the mount point.I did see they have added directions on there site in the documentation section that tells you how to make sure your kernel supports usb and that it is actually running the usb support.
