diff between linux and windows os
 
hello all,

i am the person who is seeing linux first time.please tell me what r the factors i must know to work on linux. here the s/m s caintain redhat linux version 8.0

what r the diffeences frm windows.

i will be grateful to u, if u tell some tips abt this.

I always think of it like this, with windows it does what you mean not what you tell it.

With linux it does what you tell it, not always what you meant.

Basically you'll have a lot more control if you so wish. Chances are also when you want to do something, you won't have to download a 5mb commercial software to do it.

Windows is poorly documented not to say it's not documented. Their help is kids stuff. To change WXP behavior you need to light up candles and dress up in black and to pray. It's a black box with a few buttons for users. Nobody but MS knows what's going on inside.
With Linux it's pure knowledge you need to be master over your PC.

windows doesnt help users.it doesnot allow us to change it.windows is simple and anyone can use it.but if u use linux for some days u will understand how great linux is.its highly secure,its free,its open,and cute

Dude... just install Linux and see for yourself, when you have questions, come ask after searching around a bit as most questions already have answers to them posted out there on this site and many other sites.
