depedencies in apt-get install results in errors

Hi, I don't know why recently apt-get results in so much errors:
Code:
sh-3.1# apt-get -f install sudo
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
perl: Depends: perl-modules (>= 5.10.0-19lenny5) but 5.8.8-7etch3 is to be installed
sudo: Depends: libpam0g (>= 0.99.7.1) but 0.79-5 is to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
I have tried both apt-get update and apt-get --fix-broken install but still cant get it to work.
Code:
sh-3.1# apt-get --fix-broken install
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Correcting dependencies... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
  perl-modules
The following packages will be upgraded:
  perl-modules
1 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 93 not upgraded.
4 not fully installed or removed.
Need to get 0B/3196kB of archives.
After this operation, 3142kB of additional disk space will be used.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]? y
(Reading database ... 8071 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace perl-modules 5.8.8-7etch3 (using .../perl-modules_5.10.0-19lenny5_all.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement perl-modules ...
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/perl-modules_5.10.0-19lenny5_all.deb (--unpack):
subprocess dpkg-deb --fsys-tarfile returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/perl-modules_5.10.0-19lenny5_all.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Thanks,
Ted

because you are mixing Debian Lenny and Etch. This is not OK. Fix your sources.list and rerun apt-get update and then your install. If you don't know what to do with your sources.list, then post it here.

Hi, I managed to fix it I think,
now i am facing some trouble still with the dpkg locked:
Code:
sh-3.1# apt-get -f install
E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (5 Input/output error)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), are you root?
sh-3.1# sudo dpkg apt-get -f install
sudo: uid 0 does not exist in the passwd file!
sh-3.1# dpkg --configure -a
dpkg: unable to open/create status database lockfile: Input/output error

Now I found the file but it doesn't let me delete it:
Code:
sh-3.1# dpkg --configure -a
dpkg: unable to access dpkg status area: Read-only file system
sh-3.1# rm /var/cache/apt/archives/lock
rm: cannot remove `/var/cache/apt/archives/lock': Read-only file system
sh-3.1#
sh-3.1# rm /var/lib/dpkg/lock
rm: cannot remove `/var/lib/dpkg/lock': Read-only file system
Thanks,
Ted

Reboot, pray your disk is OK, and fsck the partitions
