Delted items do not go to the wastebasket

Just installed Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit on my Dell laptop. Noticed that deleted files and folders do not go to the wastebasket but rather are pemanently deleted.

Anybody know how to change this behaviour?

Thanks!

Have you changed any of the settings?

And are you in a memory stick or on the hard disk?

Do you use CLI or GUI to delete ?
if you right-click there is an option
move to trash

I have not changed any settings from the default installation. And yes I am using the GUI.
Also the installation is on the HDD as are the files I am deleting.

If the issue is solved, please mark your thread as solved using the thread tools just above the first post.

Can you also post the solution. Others that experience the same issue will appreciate that.
