default kde user configuration?

Hi, I recently deleted my ~/.kde file in the hopes of recreating the "default" configuration. It worked, but I want to know where kde gets the default configuration from?

I normally use Debian, but I tried setting up this computer with MEPIS. MEPIS is great and easy, but the default kde configuration for users has a weather applet set to Morgantown, West Virginia weather report. I would like to change that, along with wallpaper, window decoration, etc. I know that I can alter things manually from the default, but what I want to change is the default itself.

On my SimplyMEPIS (3.3) system, the file seems to be:
/etc/kde3/KWeatherServicerc

However, you might want to look at:
~/.kde/share/config/KWeatherServicerc
and
~/.kde/share/config/weather_panelappletrc
before making any changes.

Tools I Used
grep -R
locate
find

BTW, have you tried putting displays of additional stations in child panels?

m_yates,

I too have been trying to find where kde keeps the "default" configuration, so I can change it.

This looks like a most useful link:

http://www.kde.org/areas/sysadmin/

But I'll have to wait until the weekend.

HTH
